CHILL OUT {Gourmet Popsicles – A hot trend for Summer weddings & events}

It seems like every year around this time I find myself blogging about popsicles for weddings and events. I am a huge popsicle lover and yes, a bit obssesed about their trend. Just like shoe fanatics there are also popsicle fanatics. OK, I may be on my own on this one, but still — there is a trend and I love to see how it changes from year to year. Last year it was all about the colorful ice cream layers a bit more on the heavier side. To all my popsicle lovers, couture  popsicles are the it thing!

Last year Event Pros LA produced a July 1st wedding for Tal & Hadas and ordered 300 popsicles from my friends at The Pop Shop who’s popsicles are 100% natural, guilt-free indulgence. Handmade with organic sugar and seasonal farmers’ market produce and have no high-fructose corn syrup. You can’t go wrong.

I was right. The trend shifted 100% to organic, natural, home made style gourmet popsicles this Summer and they are a great hit. For those who are not looking to make their own popsicles for their weddings (not recommended at all), I suggest you contract The Pop Shop. They will deliver your popsicles in a variety of flavors (watermelon is amazing) in ice chests with dry ice. They also offer ice cream cart service for those interested.

As the bride walks down a beautifully designed isle, it captures the essence of her beauty and sets the mood for the entire wedding. Below are some past weddings and inspirations that we would like to share with you. Which is your favorite one?

SOMETHING BLUE {Be Inspired}

Did You Know?

 The blue has been connected to weddings for centuries. In ancient Rome, brides wore blue to symbolize love, modesty, and fidelity. Christianity has long dressed the Virgin Mary in blue, so purity was associated with the color. Before the late 19th century, blue was a popular color for wedding gowns as evidenced in proverbs like, “Marry in blue, lover be true.”

TRUE LOVE {Brides & Wedding Shoes}

As a wedding planner, I am privy to the many fine details that sum up to making a bride happy.  Each detail has its weight of importance, but none really measure up to the importance of “the wedding shoes.” Without the perfect shoes, there is no wedding. Brides have gone to great lengths to find the perfect pair that truly identifies who she is and quite honestly set the mood for the big day.

First there was Cinderella, and then there was Carrie Bradshaw.  Long before spiked heels with exotic names (Louboutin anyone?) became objects of desire, chicks have been shoe crazy.  But recently in the ever-declining economy we got proof of the madness. While sales in most things have dropped dramatically, shoe sales have gone up in comparison to the same period last year.

Turns out that science has the proof that buying a pair of shoes has always had a serious mood boosting when you try on any kind of apparel and especially when you purchase a new pair of shoes. The neurotransmitter dopamine is released providing a feel-good-high similar to taking drugs explains Martin Lindstrom, branding expert for Fortune 100 companies and author of Buyology: Truth and Lies About Why We Buy.

I know of many brides spend countless hours online looking for that perfect shoe until they know the shoe styles by name on each individual website. There is nothing I can say that will change that. What is important is that at the end of the day when they do find the perfect one they live happily ever after.
