Clair + Leon | Married {MALIBU WEDDING}

RANCHO SOL DEL PACIFICO – June 10, 2012

Every once in a while, one is fortunate to experience moments in life that touch the heart and soul. For me, the wedding of Clair & Leon was just that.  Clair & Leon are both deeply connected to spirituality and to the Jewish faith and have a love to each other and all those surrounding them that you can almost touch.

Their magical spirit was felt by everyone whom attended their wedding without a doubt.  Each guest that was invited was somehow touched by Clair & Leon’s spark and had a deep connection to them. I feel lucky that I got to experience their special day. A special thanks to the fabulously talented duo Ron & Gabrielle Levy  of Ron Levy Photography who captured some of the most fabulous moments. They are both rock stars.

The wedding of Clair & Leon took place at the breathtaking  Rancho Sol Del Pacifico . The private estate in the hills of Malibu overlooking the ocean was turned into a wedding location extraordinaire for the day! A big thanks to my fab assistant Elle!

la event planner

We’ve been working hard all year to come up with some great ideas for our Summer weddings. One of the funnest part of wedding planning is of course coming up with a breathtaking designs for the ceremony site.  Be it a Huppah for a Jewish wedding or an alter for a Catholic wedding, Christian wedding or non denominational wedding, the style of the isle is the pinnacle of the wedding. As the bride walks down a beautifully designed isle, it captures the essence of her beauty and sets the mood for the entire wedding. Below are some past weddings and inspirations that we would like to share with you. Which is your favorite one?

2011 Thoughts & Fav’s {A Year in a Life of an Event Planner}

I’ve always wondered what is the best way to start an “end of the year” blog post and what exactly do you say?  I recall a few months ago I couldn’t wait for 2011 to go away. It was not shaping up to end on a high note.

I had dinner with my beautiful, insightful and talented friend Sigi Farkash (owner of Design by SIG) who bluntly and clearly said to me. “Your diamond is right in front of you. sometimes you just need to dig deeper  and invest more effort to see it and hold it in your hand.” She had some other descriptives which we will not go into, but the point is — she was right.

So after that evening, I had that conversation twirling in my mind for a few weeks which lead me to think about what I would like to be doing in 2012?  And than that call came. So I am ending my 2011 on a very high note as I joined the Israeli Leadership Council (ILC) family in the past two weeks to oversee  and manage a huge event “Celebrate Israel” – A community-wide event celebrating Israel’s 64th Independence Day which you will hear about from me in various forms in the next 4 months. I am humbled and honored to be in the presence of such an amazing group of people. Truly.

So 2011 —- I had a great year, and enjoyed being a wedding planner for so many happy couples. I’ve learned that not all amazing weddings have to be in Los Angeles! I actually knew that — but really enjoyed being a part of Gladys & Peter’s wedding in Temecula. It was so romantic and just — perfect.

I have so many unforgetable moments from this year, it’s hard to summerize it in words… but I’ve been told that photos help to do so many times. Below are some (but not all) of the events that I take with me this year as the most memorable ones.

I am thankful for all that I do, greatful to my family and friends that love me and are always there for me. Althought 2011 is ending on a high point, honestly goodbye 2011 and hello 2012. Can’t wait to see what this years has to offer. BRING IT ON.

Art Deco Glamour Wedding {Joe+Stacey}

The black and white wedding theme hummed along for years and some thought it would never go away.  Occasionally, it dipped  just below the radar but as every planner knows, it never really left us – and its coming back up in a big way -this time with a 40s era Art Deco inspired wedding.

 1940’s evoke images of black and white movies with their dashing actors and stylish, elegant leading ladies This decade left behind fashion icons – sharp suits and fedoras for men, beautiful dresses and sexy yet very classy accessories for women.  It was a romantic era and it’s no wonder that Joe and Stacey,  the most “in love” couple this side of the hemisphere  adopted the 1940’s theme when they planned their big day.

The groom and groomsmen  dressed in black with accented red tie and wide -brimmed fedora hats to complete the high-fashioned era-inspired wedding which really added personality to the wedding. The bride’s romantic lace gown and her bridesmaids black knee-length dresses with 40s inspired hairdos were just another sweet touch to the oh-so-romantic wedding.

The traditional Jewish Wedding ceremony took place under the Chuppah overlooking the ocean with a breath-taking view of the Pacific Ocean for all the guests to enjoy.

The band played the best of the 40’s-60’s music throughout the night. The first dance which flowed with the theme was  “The Best is Yet to Come” by Michael Buble.  Everyone walked away feeling the love that night.
